Westfield is England Car Manufacturer founded in 1982 by Chris Smith. Headquartered in Dudley Road, Kingswinford, England, this company completely named Westfield Sports Cars those are the two manufacturers of kit versions of several two-seaters and open-top sports cars. Their most popular product is the Lotus Seven Inspired car which is designed by Collin Chapman. Indeed, they also have other popular products such as SEi, Mega S2000, Megabus, Seight, Sport 2000S, XI, XTR2, and many more.
Anyway, the popularity of Lotus Seven made a serious problem arising when Caterham Cars Company claimed that they had owned that product. In fact, they might have a very similar design and assembly method. After going to the court, Westfield could prove that the company had improved the design of its vehicle. And the result showed that both Westfield and Caterham Cars have a different construction.
In this case, Westfield used the body fiberglass while it was the traditional Lotus other models such as in Elise, Elan, and Esprit while Caterham used the aluminum to make the bodywork. Westfield even made different technical innovation by using the independent rear suspension and a wider frame.
After the problem was ended, Westfield produced the Mazda MX5 Miata which is the set of SDV that uses Ford Sierra as a donor brand. In the last December 2006, this company also contributed to producing sports cars with Potenza Sports Car Limited Company.
